元朝末年，百姓的日子苦极了。中秋快到了，起义者掰开月饼，发现里面藏着纸条。月饼一家一家地送，消息一村一村地传。中秋夜，家家户户摆上月饼；约定时间一到，起义者振臂一呼，火把汇成一条火的巨龙。从那以后，中秋吃月饼多了一层意思——团圆，和勇气。

At the end of the Yuan dynasty life was bitter. As Mid-Autumn neared, a rebel broke open a mooncake and found a hidden note. Mooncake by mooncake the secret spread from village to village. On Mid-Autumn night every family set out mooncakes; at the appointed hour torches were lit, a river of fire running toward the dawn. Since then, mooncakes have meant one thing more — reunion, and courage.
