The giant Kuafu decided to chase the sun. He died of thirst on the journey, and his staff turned into a peach forest.

远古的时候，太阳火辣辣地烤着大地，河流干了，庄稼枯了。巨人夸父立下宏愿：要追上太阳。他迈开大步向西狂奔，跑过高山和荒漠，又渴又累，一口气喝干了大泽的水，可还是倒下了。倒下之前，他把手杖扔了出去。手杖落地长成一片桃林，为后来的赶路人遮阴结果。
English
In ancient times the sun scorched the earth; rivers dried and crops withered. The giant Kuafu vowed to chase the sun. He ran west past mountains and deserts, drank a lake dry, but fell at last. Before closing his eyes he threw his staff far away — it took root and became a peach forest, giving shade and fruit to travelers.
