四月诞生石 · April Birthstone

April 出生的人，现代表通常写 钻石（Diamond）。下面把两套表、每颗石头的来历与保养，以及它和中国传统的关系都列出来。

April is most often given as Diamond. Both lists, every alternative, the care notes, and whether the stone has any Chinese tradition — all below.

四月这一栏：两套表都是钻石。有个背景值得知道：现代表在 1912 年被整理出来，部分原因就是让珠宝商能把几颗石头镶进一枚「母亲戒」——这也是那些更硬、能刻面的石头打赢了老的素面石头的原因。Diamond on both lists. 在中国的传统里 · In Chinese tradition

「金刚石」在中国文献里出现得很早，但几百年里它是切磨材料，不是首饰。把钻石戴在身上是中国二十世纪才有的事。Diamond appears in Chinese texts as 金刚石 for centuries — but as a cutting and polishing material, not as jewellery. Wearing it in China is a twentieth-century habit.

来历 · Where it comes from

四月的钻石资格很老，也从没被真正撼动过；它同时对应标准表上最多的结婚纪念年份。April's diamond is old and never seriously contested — it also covers the largest number of wedding anniversaries on the standard list.

保养 · Care

日常戴，没有比它更扛的诞生石。但重击仍会崩口，且它沾油——用温肥皂水清洗即可。Takes daily wear better than any other birthstone. It will still chip on a hard knock, and it attracts grease — clean with warm soapy water.

挑的时候看什么 · What matters when choosing

硬度只说明抗刮，不等于抗砸。本月的石头硬度是 10。硬度低的不适合当每天戴的戒指，但做耳饰、吊坠完全没问题；硬度高的也可能崩口。真正决定磨损的是硬度、韧性、以及你戴着它做什么。

先问是不是处理过的。祖母绿充填、蓝色托帕石辐照、黄水晶加热、绿松石浸胶染色，都是常见且正当的做法——但卖家应当告诉你。不说的才是问题。

两套表挑一个你喜欢的就行。因为两套表都有人用，你完全可以按颜色或预算选，不用被「官方答案」绑住。

Hardness only measures scratch resistance, not toughness. Ask about treatments — filling, irradiation, heating and dyeing are all normal, but they should be disclosed. And choose between the two lists by colour and budget; there is no official answer to be bound by.
