从栈桥的清晨走到五四广场的夜色,八个停留点,把一天真正会用到的中文拆开练一遍。

From an early morning on Zhanqiao Pier to the lights of May Fourth Square — eight stops, each with the Chinese you will actually use there.

这条线路怎么走 · How the day is laid out

这条线路按青岛真实的地理顺序排:先在老城(栈桥、中山路、教堂、信号山)走一圈,中午吃一顿海鲜,下午沿海南下到八大关,傍晚到五四广场和奥帆中心,最后到啤酒街收尾。全程不需要赶,走路和打车交替,节奏适合第一次来青岛的人。每个停留点都配了当天大概率会用到的词和句子,跟着念一遍,到了现场就能说出口。

The route follows Qingdao's real geography: the old town first (the pier, Zhongshan Road, the cathedral, Signal Hill), a seafood lunch, then south along the coast to Badaguan, the Olympic sailing harbour at dusk, and a beer-street finish. Nothing is rushed — walking and short taxi hops alternate, and the pace suits a first visit. Every stop carries the words and sentences you are most likely to need that day, so you can read them aloud here and use them there.

Best time · 最佳季节:春末到秋季最好;秋冬海边风大要加外套Late spring to autumn is best; winter coastal wind is strong — bring a jacket

时间、票价与开放时间会随季节变动,出发前请现场再确认一次;这里给的是先后顺序,不是时刻表。Times, prices and opening hours change by season — confirm on the day. The order here is a sequence, not a timetable.

栈桥Zhanqiao Pier

Zhànqiáo

一条伸进海里的老石桥,青岛最早的样子。

An old stone pier reaching out into the bay — the earliest image of Qingdao.

栈桥建于 1892 年,是当年为停靠船只修的长桥,尽头是两层飞檐的「回澜阁」。清早来最好:海面静,人少,光线斜。冬天到春天这里会飞来成群的海鸥,当地人常拿面包喂它们。站在桥上往北看,就是老城层层叠叠的红瓦屋顶。

Built in 1892 as a landing pier for ships, it ends in the two-tiered Huilange Pavilion. Come early: the water is still, the crowds are thin, and the light is low and angled. From winter into spring the pier fills with seagulls that locals feed with bread. Look north from the pier and the old town's stacked red-tile roofs rise behind you.

Practical note · 实用提示

桥上风大,夏天也建议带件薄外套;喂海鸥用面包,别用塑料包装。

It is windy on the pier even in summer — carry a light jacket. Feed gulls with bread, never with plastic wrapping.

Pīcháiyuàn

一条老里院小吃街,从豆腐脑和锅贴开始一天。

An old courtyard-alley snack street — start the day with savoury tofu pudding and pot stickers.

劈柴院是中山路旁的一片老里院,1900 年前后形成市集,因为早年这里是卖劈柴的集市而得名。早上来吃本地早饭最合适:豆腐脑、锅贴、甜沫、油条。中山路本身就是青岛最老的一条商业街,吃完饭可以顺着老建筑慢慢走。

Pichaiyuan is a cluster of old courtyard lanes beside Zhongshan Road, a market since around 1900 and named after the firewood trade that once ran here. Morning is the time for local breakfast: savoury tofu pudding (dòufunǎo), pot stickers, 'sweet foam' soup (tiánmò) and fried dough sticks. Zhongshan Road itself is Qingdao's oldest commercial street — after eating, walk it slowly past the old facades.

教堂 1934 年落成,是青岛最大的哥特与罗马风格混合的教堂,黄色花岗岩外墙,两座钟塔高约 56 米。教堂前的广场是个缓坡,很多人在坡上拍照。周围是德占时期留下的老街,楼梯和小巷都很值得走。

Completed in 1934, this is Qingdao's largest church, a mix of Gothic and Romanesque forms in yellow granite, its twin towers about 56 metres tall. 登上去,「红瓦绿树、碧海蓝天」这八个字就有了出处。

Climb it, and the phrase 'red tiles, green trees, blue sea, blue sky' suddenly makes sense.

信号山海拔不到一百米,1897 年德国人在这里设过信号台,给进出港的船打旗语,山因此得名。山顶有旋转观景台,转一圈能把老城、海湾和远处的山一次看全。青岛人形容自己的城市是「红瓦绿树、碧海蓝天」,这句话在这里最好懂。

Signal Hill is under a hundred metres high. In 1897 the German administration set up a signal station here to flag ships in and out of the harbour, which gave the hill its name. At the top a rotating viewing platform turns you through the old town, the bay and the hills beyond. The local description of Qingdao — 'red tiles, green trees, blue sea, blue sky' — is clearest from up here.

Clams, mackerel dumplings, scallops — everything you need to order food gets used at this meal.

青岛人吃海鲜讲究当季:春天吃鲅鱼,夏天吃蛤蜊和扇贝,秋天吃螃蟹。最有名的一道是辣炒蛤蜊,配本地的散装啤酒。点菜时按人数来,一般一人一到两个菜就够,海鲜按份或按斤计,问清楚再下单。

Qingdao eats seafood by season: mackerel in spring, clams and scallops in summer, crab in autumn. The signature dish is clams stir-fried with chilli, best with locally brewed draft beer. Order by headcount — one or two dishes per person is plenty. Seafood is sold by portion or by weight, so confirm before ordering.

Eight quiet streets named after historic passes, lined with old villas from many countries.

八大关不是一处景点,而是八条马路组成的街区,路名取自山海关、嘉峪关等关隘,因此得名。街上没有高楼,全是 20 世纪上半叶留下的各国风格别墅,所以又叫「万国建筑博览会」。其中最有名的是花石楼,花岗岩和鹅卵石砌成,站在楼上能看海。街区尽头是第二海水浴场,沙滩细,人比第一浴场少。

Badaguan is not one sight but a district of eight streets named after historic passes such as Shanhaiguan and Jiayuguan. There are no high-rises — only villas from the first half of the 20th century in a spread of national styles, hence its nickname 'exposition of world architecture'. The best known is Huashilou, built of granite and river cobbles, with a sea view from its upper floor. The district ends at No. 2 Beach: fine sand, fewer people than No. 1.

五四广场得名于五四运动——1919 年那场运动的一个起因,正是青岛的归属问题。广场中央的雕塑「五月的风」是红色的螺旋造型,是青岛最有辨识度的地标之一。往东连着奥帆中心,2008 年奥运会帆船比赛在这里举行,现在是个开放的海滨步道区。傍晚上灯以后,沿海一线整排楼会亮起灯光秀,是这一天最上镜的时刻。

May Fourth Square takes its name from the May Fourth Movement of 1919, one of whose triggers was the question of who would hold Qingdao. The sculpture at its centre, 'Wind of May', is a red spiral and one of the city's most recognisable landmarks. East of it lies the Olympic Sailing Centre, host of the 2008 Olympic sailing events and now an open waterfront promenade. After dusk the buildings along the bay run a light show — the most photogenic moment of the day.

博物馆建在 1903 年德式啤酒厂的老厂房里,能看到最早的糖化设备、老发酵池和一段百年酒窖,参观结束会送一杯原浆和一杯纯生——「原浆」是没过滤的,保质期只有几天。「纯生」是过滤后的瓶装口味的源头。登州路整条街都是啤酒屋,本地人叫它「啤酒街」。往北不远是台东夜市,烧烤、小吃、小商品都有,适合一天的收尾。

The museum sits in the old brewhouse of a German-founded brewery of 1903, with original mashing equipment, fermentation tanks and a century-old cellar. Your ticket ends with a glass of unfiltered draft (yuánjiāng — it keeps only a few days) and one of filtered draft. Dengzhou Road itself is wall-to-wall beer houses, known locally as Beer Street. A short walk north is Taidong night market — barbecue, snacks and small goods, a good way to close the day.

常见问题 · FAQ

Is this route suitable for beginners in Chinese?

Yes. The route is pitched at roughly HSK 3 for reading the introductions, but every word and phrase is given with pinyin and English, and the phrases are deliberately short. If you are below HSK 3, learn the phrasebook section only — ten sentences will carry you through the whole day. If you are above HSK 3, read the stop descriptions in Chinese and use the English only as a check.

How much walking is involved, and can it be shortened?

The full day is roughly 8 to 10 kilometres of walking spread across eight stops, with two or three short taxi rides. To shorten it, drop Signal Hill and the Beer Museum: the old town stops (pier, snack street, cathedral) sit within a 15-minute walk of each other, and the seaside stops (Badaguan, May Fourth Square) are linked by a single coastal road, so either half works as a half-day on its own.

Where can I actually practise these sentences with a person?

Two places on this site. The AI speaking partner has a 'travel' scenario group covering taxis, ordering food and asking directions, and the conversation partner's role-play mode gives you a partner who answers back. Both are reachable from the speaking pages, and the same words used on this route appear in the scenarios.

Do the times and opening hours on this page still hold?

Treat them as a suggested order rather than a timetable. Times, ticket prices and opening hours change with the season — the light show on the bay in particular shifts its start time through the year. Confirm on the day, and use the sequence here to decide what comes next, not what time it is.

What should I say if I have a food allergy?

Say it at the start of the meal, not after the dish arrives: 我对海鲜过敏 (I am allergic to seafood) or 我对花生过敏 (peanuts). In Qingdao the common allergens are shellfish and peanuts. If your allergy is severe, carry a written card in Chinese and show it to the server — spoken language can be misheard in a noisy restaurant.

Is Qingdao dialect hard to understand?

Qingdao speech is a Mandarin dialect, so standard Chinese gets you everywhere. Two things catch visitors out: the local word for clams, 嘎啦 (gá la) rather than 蛤蜊 (gélí), and the habit of adding a strong 儿 ending. If someone says something you don't follow, 请说慢一点 (please speak more slowly) works perfectly well.

把这里的句子练成自己的 · Make these sentences yours

看会了不等于说得出。把上面这些句子拿到陪练里说一遍,AI 会告诉你哪个词用得地道、哪句可以换种说法。Reading is not speaking. Take these lines into the speaking partner and it will tell you which words landed and which sentence has a more natural version.
